The Drying Rack in September

Everything on the rack at once: lemon balm, calendula, orange peel, and a few bunches of thyme.

Every surface in the kitchen is drying something. The airer above the radiator has the last of the lemon balm. The screens on the chairs have calendula. Orange peel is on the stove rack. Thyme is hanging from the curtain rail, which my family has stopped commenting on.

It looks like chaos, but it smells wonderful. By the end of the month it will all be in jars, labelled, and the kitchen will be a kitchen again.
